Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, was released for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are among her most well-known recordings. Katy Perry posted a video in which she endorsed Runaway. This brought her some recognition. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to play music only for pleasure or for the sake of growth but rather, she must take it seriously. Thus, she began writing her own songs. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen as well as Bjork as her main influences. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote might not gain fame for her but instead to inspire people to see the importance of their work and influence to the world, she started singing them in public. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started creating music when she was nine. It was unknown by her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. She claims that she simply loves writing music. To her music, it is the most efficient way to express anything.
